Do Not be Deceived (James 1:16)

Deceived about what? What are we being deceived about?

Do not be deceived about Who God is and How God works and the truth about the destruction of sin. So, don’t be deceived… Don’t be deceived about sin… sin leads to death… it gives birth to death… 

Satan will try and get you to blame God. Satan will try and get you to think that your being punished or that God doesn’t like you or on the flip side of that.. that its ok to cheat, or ok to be gluttonous, or ok to be immoral or whatever… you deserve it… its just a little sin.. its just a white lie.. 

Don’t be deceived.

Satan will have you questioning Gods word and questioning God, when the true problem lies right here with you… in your heart. The desires of your flesh that you are struggling with.

We are tempted by our own desires… the devil didn’t make us do it, we did it on our own… the devil can’t make us do anything… we are lured and enticed by our own desires…

However, who is using our desires to lure and entice us? To entangle us? To have us fall into temptation? 

Satan is.

You are being tempted so satan can suck every bit of life out of you that you have left… he wants to drain you to the last drop… he can’t tempt God, he can’t beat God, satan isn’t all powerful or all knowing… he isn’t even all present… but he is good at what he does… deceiving and lying…

And satan wants to destroy you. He wants you to be a heap of ruined flesh.

1Pe 5:8 - Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

So, satan will twist and turn your own desires against you and he will entice you to sin…

Don’t be deceived. Turn away from sin.

Too many people today think sin is good. Sin is being rewarded. The World applauds sin. They say live a sinful life just like we are.
